HAVING CONSIDERED MOVING FROM THEIR FAMILY HOME IN WESTON, THIS EMPTY-NESTER COUPLE DECIDED INSTEAD TO MAKE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THEIR HOUSE'S GROUND FLOOR AND EXTERIOR TO BETTER CONNECT THE TWO AS WELL AS IMPROVE THE SAPCES FOR ENTERTAINING. THE MAIN IDEA WAS TO TRANSFORM A FORMER DEN SEATING AREA INTO A DINING ROOM HIGHLIGHTED BY A NEW RUSTIC FIREPLACE PLACED IN A GLASSY ADDITION. THE MOVE ALLOWED FOR THE KITCHEN TO EXPAND AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL NATURAL LIGHT AND VISUAL CONNECTION TO A REFURBISHED BACKYARD. ANOTHER LESS DEFINED SEATING AREA OFF THE KITCHEN WAS TRANSFORMED TO A ENTERTAINMENT ZONE WITH BAR AND FIREPLACE AREA SUITABLE FOR MOVIE OR EVENT WATCHING. THE AREA CONNECTS TO A FOUR-SEASON SCREENED-IN PORCH. THE REAR YARD HAS A NEW LAP POOL. THE REAR YARD NOW IS WELL INTEGRATED WITH THE FLOW OF THE HOUSE PROVIDING FURTHER SPACE FOR OUTDOOR PARTIES. OVERALL, THE AESTHETIC IS NOTICEABLY MORE CONTEMPORARY THAN THE MAIN HOUSE WITHOUT APPEARING FOREIGN.

THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 2021.
