Situated on a lovely wooden site in New England, this project provides a critical housing component adjacent to the many amenities of a mixed use commercial development. Constructed on three levels, the building takes advantage of the sloping site by relating entrances to parking areas and creating outdoor garden areas for the enjoyment of the residents. The 84 residences are distributed throughout the three floors and punctuated with light filled common space gathering areas, creating a sense of identity and scale to the various spaces. The 24 ground floor memory care residences are clustered around the dining area and outdoor garden providing connections to nature, clear points of reference, and way-finding clues. The main dining rooms are located on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen and service areas which are tucked into the topography. Upstairs, the residential neighbors are served by a variety of activity spaces including music rooms, libraries, spa/massage rooms, lounges, outdoor screened porches, theater and pub.
