Marshall-Salwen
Residence
Newton, Massachusetts
This
1890s shingle style cottage, located on a pastoral site in
Newton, Massachusetts, was renovated to allow more light into
the interior and to simplify circulation throughout. The atrium
features a dramatic three-story staircase at the heart of
the house with bookcases and window seats on a second floor
landing. Developed with Celeste Cooper, the interior furnishings
and finishes combine a rich mixture of materials and textures
with an overall simple geometry. The house was featured in
Boston Magazine, Metropolitan Home Magazine,
and the Home section of the Boston Globe.
