This renovation of a spec house in Newton, Massachusetts improved the external appearance, original finishes, and mechanical systems. By substantially altering the exterior, BFE created a non-historic look that nevertheless fit comfortably in a neighborhood of Victorian, Shingle Style, and Arts & Crafts homes. A covered porch featuring large columns and a deep overhanging roof further enhanced the new entrance, leading into a spacious front hall. The interior was redesigned to create a large, centrally located kitchen adjacent to the new family room that also functions as a state-of-the-art media room.
