Niantic Assisted Living
Niantic, Connecticut

This residence in the seaside community of Niantic, Connecticut, is composed of 24 Alzheimer's Disease units and 42 assisted living residences. Located on Main Street, the project was a small site close to beaches and between a commercial and residential area. BFE used gambrel roofs to scale down the large project and to help transition from Main Street to the residential area. The building is divided into three components: A "main" house on view from the street, the primary living wing, and the two-story dementia wing.
